If there's one thing I appreciate about gen 8 is that at the very least like 99% of the designs (with the exception of Grapploct and maybe a few others) are all inspired on the region the game is based on. Ever since Gamefreak abandoned the more abstract japanese-based regions, they've been trying to emulate the country they're basing the game around but the dex has always been a random mess of various inspirations. If they keep going down this route, I at least like that almost every mon in Galar being somehow tied to British lore and culture.
