Graduated from Unova police academy in '09 and mostly done service in Olivine, Johto since. Academy's where I caught Patrat though, real scrappy little fucker with a mean bite on anyone it don't like. Sits on my shoulder a lot, keepin' an eye out. Real handy to have on a stakeout, tell ya that much.
The Ivysaur's mine, too, actually. Had it since I was a kid, and it was a Bulbasaur then, obviously. I tried battling and all and wasn't that good, but when that whole Team Rocket shit happened, me and Bulbasaur managed to fight off a few of those crooks who were targeting some friends of mine downtown. I realized, trainers can't train and battle fairly if there's crooks like that running around, and that's why I wanted to be a cop. Someone's gotta.
Growlithe's standard issue for most recruits in the Kanto-Johto area. They're easy to break in, take orders well, and loyal to the teeth. Policeman's best friend.
And the Onix, oh, man, that's a good one. A goddamn Onix burst out of Mount Silver one day, confused as all hell. We don't know what got into it but it was a whole ruckus. City Pokemon Services were too busy jackin' themselves off like always to do much about it so me and the other boys took to the streets and wore the thing down ourselves. We just about had it wrangled but some second wind it had threatened to bring its whole rampage into the city. It was beat up, though, and I happened to have a few Pokeballs on me so with no other option I just started chuckin' em and hoping for the best. The second Pokeball clicked, and everybody was just speechless. The chief came over and patted me on the back for that one, tellin' me, "now you shut that thing tight!"
It's an ornery fella, but listens well enough. Given its size, I don't bring it out much, but a lot of folks are more inclined to go peacefully when you pull an Onix out of your pocket.
