>>57846614As funny as that is, something people can ironically forget about Ruby/Sapphire is how they're always bickering with each other. The only constant is their back and forth. If one of them was way more dominant and the other way more submissive, then there wouldn't be any fighting since the dominant one would just make all the decisions. But since Ruby and Sapphire are supposed to be a meme version of Groudon and Kyogre, two warring beings at an eternal stalemate since neither will ever win, similarly neither Ruby or Sapphire can be total doormats. Not only do they both have extremely different worldviews, they both must also stand up for their beliefs, even when those beliefs seem to be directly in opposition. Thus conflict. And just like Groudon/Kyogre, their conflict actually never ends, it's meant to represent the inherent antagonism between male and female, who are just naturally so different that they'll always be in at least some mild form of conflict even if they love each other completely, maybe even especially in that case. (Also antagonism/conflict isn't necessarily = fighting/hatred, it just means an oppositional force. Someone who challenges you, ideally challenging you to be better. Like how the "antagonist" of a story isn't always the "villain" there is a difference)
The challenge for Ruby and Sapphire is, unlike Groudon and Kyogre they must learn to make up and compromise somehow. Neither of them are right 100 percent of the time, the point is they can only save the world with double battles I mean teamwork. Though their conflict is supposed to be both purely emotional and ultimately a positive force, pushing each other to be less stupid and more mature.
