>>37431519I knew Pokemon because of the Pokemania as a child but didn't play any games until I was 17 (it was Silver), and during that time I had a friend who was a massive Unova fan and she suggested I downloaded the Pokedex 3D to "get acquainted with the newest mons". I did and honestly had no idea about there being gens and that they still made new Pokemon (I did know all gen 1 and 2 ones, plus random 3 and 4 ones but didn't know they were "organised" or that they were new? I don't know how to describe it), so it was like a whole new world to me, I immediately fell in love with all the gen 5 designs. Each day the dex would unlock 3 new mons and it was really exciting waiting to see what new ones I'd see each day.
And then the day came I unlocked Swadloon, his face was so funny to me that I showed my mom (she likes Pokemon too, but limited to gen 1 at the time, at least she did know the whole dex) and she loved it, even gave it a cute nickname. She asked to see more of these new Pokemon and I showed her, she fell just as much in love with them as I did. Some time later we found some Frillish and Reshiram plushies on a nearby store, really small and cute ones, and she was so excited to get them. She even doodled her favorite Unovamons to give to me, plus other cutesy stuff. To sum it up, my favorite is Swadloon, but I honest to god love all of the Unova dex because it reminds me of my mom and how much she loves them too, and how it pretty much got us into Pokemon for real. It's like the Pokemon we both love a lot and I just consider it too dear. I know it's kind of a stupid story/reason and that there are better designed ones and all, but none have this bonding meaning to them, honestly.
