Gen 5 was Gamefreaks try to reboot the series. Those who loved the Games beforehand had a hard time accepting this. Gen 5 had a nice World, a bunch of interesting and great designs, but also alot of shit.
The Story around N was good, you could really see why the antagonists do the things they do, the gymleads were involved, also switching seasons and stuff.
Then again, it was way too streamlined, the difficulty was lacking in some parts, and some parts were too hard, let it be BW or B2W2.
All in all, i gave that games a 5/10 back when they came out, but nowadays i´d give them a 7/10. Even moreso thanks to stuff like the "Hardmode" you could activate. It made Nuzlocke runs a tad more challenging if you rule out grinding at the beginning
(Also, before someone asks, 27 years old, played every game when it came out and recently replayed them all in the natural order.)
