GTS to me has always defeated the point of the trade system. Trades are meant to be a thing that gets you interacting with other players, but creating something that completely removes that need to interact is pointless. It's the equivalent of group finder in MMOs. Yeah, it makes things easier for the individual, but it defeats the purpose of a social feature in the first place. Additionally it was drowned in fucking worthless trade offers.
That said, the code link system is awful.
