After losing my plat run AGAIN, I've swung around to have another shot at a HG run. I'm going to try a "no items in battle" rule this time because I had some scuffles where it felt like I was overusing potions to stay in the game. To counterbalance, I'm adding a dupe clause.
It's been going good so far. Miltank was far easier this time when I actually strategized; Popped off a SmokeScreen then Rock Smashed to victory. Rotated Shigeru Jo in because I've never had a Heracross before but I'm mad that KR Stronger can't learn his signature ThunderPunch!
>>49148688I was thinking more along the lines of "no dupes because I don't want three Bidoofs in my box". Also, when I lose a squaddie but have a dupe I can never bring myself to replace them because it cheapens the experience.
I can see where it might be challenging if you were to lose a good 'mon and have a hard time replacing its niche in the team. When I got cut, the only two that could use it were Quilava and Bellsprout (since Rattata died) so Bellsprout got its moveset fucked up and had to be switched out.
>>49149826>Every time a 'mon is KO-ed, it de-evolvesThat's insane. Is that built into the normal gameplay or does unbound have a challenge mode? Even if they get weaker, that's tantamount to 16 pokemon in a row which sounds really annoying (unless they de-level as well).
>>49151719RIP Aron. Aggron is a good tank as well (so long as you avoid getting nuked by Fight/Ground moves). Glad to see my boy Shroomish in there as well.
>>49153109Looks like you have a fairly solid spread so far. GL.
