I'm mostly here for the cute monsters. /an/ and /vp/ are the only boards I still visit, but I don't have any pets and I'm not educated enough to get into the serious zoology discussions, so there's not as much for me to talk about there. /an/ can also get a little depressing sometimes. It's a lot easier to tolerate imaginary animal abuse than real animal abuse ;_;
The games can still be a lot of fun as well. They're the perfect thing to relax and just let yourself get absorbed into. I find a lot of the problems people have with the franchise, even the older games, are less of an issue if you just use your imagination a little. Sure the graphics have never been amazing, the gameplay can get repetitive, and the plots are rather thin, but I find that if you treat them less like novels and more like those old choose-your-own-adventure books, you get a lot more out of them. Of course, it's easy for me to forgive their flaws since I just play romhacks on emulators and don't spend any money lawl
