>>36317863Same here. It's weird because prior to Gen 5 I was a Kanto/Johto baby who played the shit out of but still sort of stuck their nose up at gen 3 or gen 4 because of "it's different so it sucks" syndrome.
There was a lot about gen 5 that stuck out to me immediately as being brilliant, but particularly being put into a game where all the mons are brand new refreshed my systems and made me enjoy Pokemon for something deeper than pure nostalgia. It had a proper impact on me too, loving gen 5 so much made me accept and love gen 3 and gen 4 too, moreso now than 1 and 2.
