Disruption by Lysandre is probable, though I hope the Japs weren't dumb enough to do this. Also, wasn't Bisharp withdrawn or something? I really hope Ash doesn't withdraw Pikachu from Charizard only to have it job to Bisharp later on, but I'd love it if Pikachu beat Bisharp after the intense Greninja-Charizard fight.

I believe in Ash, he WILL win it. It's been 20 years after all.

Ash is a magnificent trainer, and Ash-Greninja is the perfect way to demonstrate it. Indulge my autism for a minute and consider the following:

Compare that to other trainers who sit on the sidelines where it's safe and yell out attacks.

Ash has always been like this, willing to meatshield for his Pokemon. That and his implicit trust in his Pokemon are the two traits that make him worthy of being the protagonist. Ash-Greninja provides the perfect medium for those characteristics to be laid on the line and put to the test, and I'd say he passed with flying fucking colors.
