these people genuinely don't care about the series. they only play the games to stay relevant among their social circles. when you have so many people like these who will buy your product even if the product is low quality, why would you bother putting effort? this is all very similar to people who mindlessly buy iphones.
the "fanbase" is genuinely, incredibly trollish and toxic. there's no hope for this franchise and I advice anyone who cares about the series to stay away from it. just pretend the series died with the last game you truly enjoyed playing and move on. it's a new year, maybe it's time to move on to something you never tried or wanted to try before, but didn't have time for it.
