I'm not saying media doesn't matter, as we get a lot of enjoyment out of it, but you can't compare a character to a real person. Adoring Fan was an Oblivion meme for a while where the goal was to kill him in the most over the top and hilarious way possible. It was all good fun. However, I would be disgusted by it if I saw someone treat ANY living animal or person that way irl. Killing for pleasure and entertainment bothers me. But that dude isn't real, so it doesn't matter.
