Like before if you watched a competative match you'd see all these cool monsters, and it made sense because this was the peak of competition and all the big strong looking pokemon were big and strong. Dragons were the big rare strong type and looked like it, but then the pink girly shit type came and shat all over them, only to supplant them as the overpowered type.
Now any time you tune into a vgc match it's just moeblobs and memes.
