Too tired to continue through Sprout Tower tonight, but a little update since updates keep me motivated to continue challenges.
HeartGold Nuzlocke is going pretty smooth so far. Lost Turn-X the Caterpie to a Zubat I couldn't escape from while training everyone up. Was lucky enough to bump into a Gastly in Sprout tower, took 3 Pokeballs because I didn't have any non-Normal attacks to bring his health down. Honestly surprised I got him in just 3. The downside is he's been a bit of a pain to bring up to level, since everything in the area seems to be Normal types mostly.
Not super concerned about Falkner, I don't have anything that is particularly weak to Flying, but I don't have a ton of things that are type-strong against it. First I need to get through Sprout Tower though, so we'll see how things go tomorrow.
