On his way home from work he'll do a convenience store run for some essentials and/or snacks and throw in something for himself while he's there, and if he's ever home he'll do the other really basic stuff like refill the hot water bottle with hotter water when asked and offer to get some takeout if cooking isn't in the cards. Otherwise he gives plenty of space if needed and offers very ordinary affection when he's asked. Simple but nice.
