As far as whether or not they will, there a re a few things that need to be answered first.
>Is the artist making money off of it?>Has the artist claimed any sort of ownership of the characters in this work?>Does it depict the IP in a way that could be obscene and/or defamatory?Depending on how one answers those questions there’s a good chance you could get sued by the IP holders.
And remember that stuff like this HAS been taken down in the past, Kuroodod’s Eeveelutions comic had be reworked after his Patreon account got a DMCA filing from Nintendo and Diives had to back away from doing any Pokémon-related work for a while (I think he came back to it but I could be wrong) after he tried to claim ownership of his Pokémon OCs.
