HMs were unironically the best part of earlier games and they kept you faggots from having the Battle Simulator that the games have become. Having to actually budget who in your team learns what moves raises the fucking stakes and made those early games richer. ALSO, they make you want to reexamine old routes because now you can climb that waterfall that you didn't even think about. ALSO ALSO, for moves like cut and flash that are decent but not great, then you can teach them to a low-powered pokemon you like but don't really fight with. It gives pokemon the option to be pure utility instead of each playing a combat role. The games should have leaned into HMs and the exploration roleplaying they provided. Fuck you, whiny little shits that can deal with not having the perfect competative team while in game. Your pathetic shitspewing tears of selfpity is why things ended this way. If you can't appreciate what HMs brought to the table, then you are the shitstain on the underpants of the fanbase.
