Shauna's skin is brown whether anybody likes it or not. While Shauna definitely isn't unpopular, compare the
tumblr tag for Calem x Shauna and the tag for Calem x Serena, you'll notice a pretty gigantic difference within seconds of contrasting both tags despite the amount of hints provided for the former pairing in the actual game.
The moral here is that artists seem to not approve of interracial relationships, either that or features about characters that just stick out and make them off-turning overall. Refer to my Tierno example, you can't necessarily gush over a character like that, now look at someone like say, Professor Sycamore.
In conclusion, you could push a ship like say, Trevor and Olympia in the game as hard as you want but that doesn't mean everyone is going to get their panties wet over it.
