But the yuriforce came back with a vengeance in Gen 8 and basically pushed Gloria/Marnie into semi-canon territory with the amount of attention it gets, and even official stuff shoves them together. This is the duality of the situation, where yuri can be pushed aside or completely dominate the fandom and worm its way into official.
And it's not like Lillie doesn't get plenty of yuri material in spite of that scene either. If anything, canon being straight just serves to balance out the gay obsessing fandom
