I played the most ptcg back in early 2014 because greninja,delphox, empoleon, and dusknoir were really fun cards to play with. Outside of having to set up stage 2s in a format where fat basics just destroyed everything, one of the worst things about stage 2 decks back then was the plasma match up. Lugia just effortlessly mauled your basics with overflow.
Right now, things have shifted to the heaviest emphasis on evolving I've honestly ever seen in the TCG (started following the TCG with DEX back in 2012, I've only known big basic formats for most of my time playing). It almost seems like for the first time in years Plasma's not absolutely unplayable and can sneak out with a bunch of basic KOs. Plus, with shit like Shaymin and Hoopa and Skyfield available now, it seems waaaay more consistent to get going than back in 2014. Necrozma looks like a bitch, but maybe you can just sneak by that by Guzmaing the other attackers I guess?
