It doesn't help the franchise is doubling down on one of the things we've been hating about it: making each new thing only last one or two gens.
Imagine if they had given proper megas to some more Pokemon that needed it, or had balanced Z moves so they're not instakill wipe moves, but just another tool to factor into strategies.
We lost 2/3rds of the dex and all the past gimmicks, and I lost 3/4ths of my favorite Pokemon, all for what? A wild area the size of half a city in Daggerfall? Max forms that we're losing in the next gen anyway? A handful of regional forms that will ALSO disappear a couple years from now?
I'd much rather see the new Pokemon and my bros in an almost-HD, barebones game than get more gimmicks shat on my lap.
