Mono darklocke guy here...I'm trying to strategize early for Flannery. I just got to Mauville and have logged over 7.5 hours! 3 hours were spent trying to encounter a Seedot in route 102, but it finally happened. I'm focusing on grinding the Seedot as much as possible and trying to not let the other two fall behind. It's kind of cheesy, but I really, REALLY don't want to lose again, and so for Wattson I'll be grinding Seedot up to 31 so he will be able to have the moveset: Synthesis, Sunny Day, Harden/Growth (can't decide), Faint Attack and be able to evolve to Nuzleaf at 31. The reason for this autism is that there's only 1 sunny day TM, and I really would like to have a 2nd sun setter endgame for my chlorophyll Shiftry.
For Flannery, I am thinking I will grind the rest of the team up to about 30, but I am making sure I hit the defensive benchmark to live overheat from torkoal in the sun with Sableye. My strategy will be to Howl up with Mightyena so that I can hopefully destroy the rest of Flannery's team with dig/strength, then somehow get in Sableye against the Torkoal at full HP. I will use Torment turn 1, because then the next turn she can't touch me (got a female Sableye luckily). From there, I can proceed to Detect on the turns she uses Overheat, and spam night shade until it goes down. Worst case scenario I get crit with overheat or lose my mightyena before he dispatches the rest of the opposition, or have to sack a pokemon to get Sableye in safely. This is literally one of the scariest fights in the entire game for my team because of the limited TMs and pokemon I have, with NO fire resistances or bulky pokemon. I'm pretty scared bros. Nuzlocke generator is down, so have a mega sableye
The team so far:
>ObsidianMightyena lv 22, bold nature
>GarnetSableye lv 21, jolly nature
>AmethystSeedot lv 23, quiet nature (chlorophyll ability, lucky as fuck)
>>43430162Nice! that's a clutch victory against Wattson for you.
