Why are Niantic adding these Pokémon to the shadow rotation? I can understand Shadow Onix, with Shadow Steelix seeing some improvements as a dragon counter and even Shadow Onix in LC trading a couple wins for more efficient kills against things like Shelmet, but everything else seems like it was either done to add more shadowmons to collect for the dex or to trick people into thinking that lvl. 51 best buddy Shadow Natu, LC Shadow Natu and Shadow Golurk for raids are worthy investments. I guess it might make psychic grunts and ground grunts easier to fight, but who really needed them to be easier?
Best Case Scenario: Alolan Diglett is a surplus spawn for a steel-type grunt that has Beldum line as a rare encounter (too bad I've already gotten 7 to at least lvl. 40, and 3 to lvl. 45.), but I doubt that will be the case.
