Not only was it the most prominent Jhoto starter in the anime with the most personality, it was also a main character in the anime special about the first Mystery Dungeon game, and also a main character in the first PokePark along with Charmander, Piplup and Pikachu. At the very least it seems to represent Jhoto better than the other two starters for the inmediate japanese audience.
