I got a gal I’m working on who I’m trying to figure out. I have loose ideas and stuff I wanna explore but nothing solid yet.
Her name’s Seascribe, a traveling hobo lady who claims to be a speaker for the ocean and it’s wisdom. However she’s a bit schizo and it’s unclear if she’s actually aware of things beyond human understanding or just completely mental. Personality-wise she has a knack for saying things that sound deep and philosophical but ultimately mean nothing, and then immediately dropping whatever she said because of a short attention span.
I came up with her after two of my friends made spacey wise-person ocs each sorta with sky and worldly morifs respectively and I saw a niche to make a trio with an ocean-themed character. The combination of space and ocean also lent itself well to a pinch of lovecraft inspiration which became something I’m trying to workshop with her. Inspired up on cosmic horror’s occasional nihilist themes, maybe a theme that would be interesting to explore would be dissatisfaction with one’s current circumstances while feeling completely unable to change it? It would add a nice contrast to her surface absurdity while not being overpowering if the two where balanced well enough. It could also give her a good motivation and something to do.
Currently how I wanna work with that (if I even end up going that route) is one fo the things I’m still tinkering with her. Her personality and what interacting with her is like too I’m also trying to determine.
