I'm starting to feel like I want to kill myself again, so my post might not read well.
I think that while the Pokedex should not be disregarded, some of the information may be put together incorrectly and demands context and consideration to accurately interpret. In particular, numbers based information.
Macargo says it's like 18000 degrees (I forget if its farenheit or celsius) and it's been a point of contention for a while because it can't be that hot without setting everything around it on fire.
But when you realize that this might just be a typo that was never corrected throughout the years either because no one noticed it or no one really cares, it becomes more sensible, because 1800 degrees sits comfortably between IRL temperature ranges of magma (or lava, I forget which).
