newer games are better in their own aspects. mainly more feature make the newer games more playable past the story line but gen 2 was probably the golden age of pokemon. the idea of 16 badges and an ultimate trainer battle with red just makes the pokemon world feel so alive and conquerable. new generations keep dumbing down the gameplay just to give to the metagame. im all for competitive battling, but sometimes i dont want to feel obligated to run around hatching eggs and breeding for competitive pokemon.
