>>20204012>Smogon's been pretty trigger-happy with the suspect testing this genThey want a meta that, in at least some regards, resembles DPPt which was legit the last good OU. The only non-legendaries to get banned that gen were Garchomp and Wobbuffet, and later Salamence. But if you traveled back in time and told a DPPt player that Gamefreak would introduce pokemon with 260, 249, 213, 185, etc. base attack stats complete with high-powered STABs, powerful priority and even bulk, they might not believe you. Or that Gamefreak would give Shadow Tag to something that had an actual movepoool, or make not one but two special moves that targeted the foe's defense, or give Drizzle/Drought to a couple of random shitmons, or make an ability that gives all status moves +1 priority, etc.
The power creep is unreal, and that's why they're being trigger happy; cause there's just too much bullshit, and they want a meta where there aren't a handful of top threats that are on a power level well beyond the rest of the meta. At least now we're getting to the part where suspect tests aren't a guaranteed ban, unlike crap like Mega Luke. The aim is a "balanced" game, which will probably be maybe four or five bans probbaly. If you don't like it, don't play OU on Showdown.
>>20204279>every megaThe power creep is unreal, but don't pretend some megas didn't get the short end of the stick.
