Coming directly after phenomenal titles like Platinum and HGSS, I was expecting them to build up from that they did but I just didn't realize it at the time. I was mad because on the surface everything was so different without realizing this decision was infact for the better.
We complain nowadays that modern pokemon is sterile and lacks ambition and we shitted on gamefreak when they actually tried, its no surprise we ended up in the bad future the fanbase chose it.
