While this gen/release is completely out of question, perhaps it is their long-term economics to manage what they release with a mega so that the next gen/edition isn't going to be left with lesser mons accounting for less hype and interest.
At least, I hope this is somewhat true. Apart from Pinsir, none of my top faves have earned one.
