The Jonathan from Unova became a huge star after becoming Champion but was accused of not only cheating but doping his Pokemon. The coverage was super public and widespreading and in tandem with his haughty attitude and bad temper it ruined his image to the point he had to hide away in Asperita Town (which would then tie it back to the BW2 comic idea I had but it's still something that happens when removed from the game-expy stories.)
I feel like this is something that would or could happen a lot in Pokemon and I wanna explore it more myself
