If Metagross had both Iron Fist and Shift Gear, coverage wouldn't be a problem. Shift Gear, Thunderpunch, Meteor Mash and Earthquake is all you need to hit everything bar Air Balloon users for at least neutral (and incredibly hard) damage, and even then you can break their balloons with a well predicted MM or Thunderpunch. Here's some calcs. You can't wall this. There's only two counters to it: Maximum bulk Unaware Quagsire or Shedinja. Everything else is 2KO'd at worst.
