What I can't work out is why, despite Trump winning, that actually meant that popular culture became MORE progressive and "SJW", rather than less.
A lot of us will remember the direct aftermath of Trump winning in Nov 2016, and how lots of people made bold predictions that it was "the end of social justice ideology", that people would simply have to come to terms with the fact that a large mass of people are against radical-progressive beliefs and prefer for things to stay the same as they were.
And yet, the opposite happened. Somehow 2016 just energized SJWs even more so. Somehow their ideals only became more mainstream and more entrenched in public society in the years following. Far from Trump's win being a "defeat for SJWism", it actually turned out to be its ultimate victory, the tipping point at which they went from being a band of crazed radicals on Tumblr, to being the actual cultural mainstream.
But why? Why did it happen? I just don't get it, really.
