>>31950588Yeah, I know, but usually they didn't get as far as cell-animation back then because of the cost and time/effort spent to do it. Just rough story-boards or maybe some pencil tests - And I'd assume that's why the scenes with adult Misty aren't fully animated; just 90% stills and transition filters. But, who knows, it very well could have just been to draw hype.
I'm just fascinated by the behind the scenes production, how it lead to where we are now, and how secretive TPC are with it. With the series as a whole in fact - Like how we almost never see any concept art or beta designs since production of Gen 2 (sans the Beta-Torchick and the Latias Blaziken) and even with the anime production art, outside of an occasional leak usually before the next gen, we generally only see cherry-picked stuff.
