i beat ocandia
have a review thats way too long
the good
>challenging fights, especially bosses. opponents have coherently themed teams. npcs arent pushovers. no resorting to annoying gimmicks like evasion spam.
>interesting maps feel alive and are filled with neat overworld encounters. fun to explore.
>pokemon distribution decently large but not overwhelming
>imo, giving player access to good ivs, evs, and natures a big plus when opponents have them too
the neutral
>has pokemon reborn's terrain system
>has smogon's CAP mons
>apparently, its part of a series of other games which i have not played
the bad
>it's not finished
>level curve rises too quickly, but offset by cheap supply of rare candies. i was underleveled by 8 levels at the end, but that was only to challenge myself
>no fly and no region map. youll need to backtrack some, but offset but speedup button and cheap repels
>some learnsets bugged. trained a hatterene only to find out i cant teach her trick room.
>the story. might be missing some context, but its strange how the antagonists single you out
the ugly
>antagonists are annoying and uncharismatic and descend into unfunny profane-laden bickering among each other. theyre not persuasive with their main goal, which is cleansing the region of migrants who are damaging the local culture and causing crime. but afaik you're only told about the damage from npcs not shown anything.
>the regional champion is the creator's self insert oc, which the creator commissions tons of pokemon porn of and spammed on /vp/ in the past
>a trainer who talks about fucking her pokemon
>creator is an ass who cant take criticism and thinks "her" (according to rumors might be a dude pretending to be a girl) games are masterpieces
