>>47456219>Be me>Wanted a Shiny Male Corviknight to use for my team>Decide to have fun and just shiny hunt Rookidees in Routes 1 and 2>Initially hunt with my Bromon and partner, but decide that a Synchroniser might save me some time, so I bring in an Adamant one>Eventually come to the conclusion that mints can be used to do the nature if needed, even if not ideal, so I bring along a Cute Charmer to try and get the male specifically since I'd rather that over it being Adamant>Spend a couple of days battling online and testing out the team on Showdown while punching away Rookidees>Eventually look up ways to increase the shiny odds>Read that once you hit 500 battles with a species, the shiny rates for it become significantly higher>I'm approaching that number (at roughly 425 or something) so I figure if I'll just get to the 500 and then begin the hunt with my cute charmer>Since my charmer's not that high leveled and I don't care much for them, I decide to have more fun with this and use my Bromon to get me to the 500 spot>The fifth bird after this is shiny>It's a girl>Dream Ball it anyways>Look at nature>It's Bashful, but a little vain and has some good IVs at least>Figure I'll just dump it in camp to level her up to a Corvisquire so I can just breed her (I don't feel like wasting exp candies on this)>Get to camp>BORB>The fucking Borb melts my heart>She's absolutely adorable>I can't bare to replace her anymore, too damn cute>A week later>The Rookidee is now on my team as my shiny Corviknight>Thanks to her, my Bromon, and the rest of my team I got to Master Rank with Zero Losses (a first)>Cook everyone a celebratory feast>Check her memories>"Airaline was raised by (Trainer) and evolved in a cave">"The Pokemon fondly remembers that it felt proud" And that is the story of how I got emotionally attached to a failed shiny hunt and decided to use it instead of what I was actually going for.
