Incidentally, since the secret rare Charmander has been brought up, I really feel like gen III cards started the still-current trend of Sugimori cards looking lazy and boring as shit. Look at Base Set through Neo Revelation and the Sugimori cards almost all look great. Maybe it's his change from watercolor, Toriyama-esque style or maybe it's just how the art was put together, but the difference is night and day imo.
