DESU I'm actually not too miffed with how they depicted Zapdos in this. At the end of the day it didn't get captured (summoning lightning from INSIDE the ball to destroy it is metal as heck) and we got the SICK trope of the theme song playing (Ash better get a moment like that later). You can just chock up the initial knock down from Zapdos being caught by surprise and having multiple pokemon going after it at once
