I still like to imagine that the starters you get from the professor are almost always pokemon invasive to the region and that they would be a common or rare spawn in another region. Like Charmander might have originated from Galar and Oak brought some over with him from his journeys.
I would love to see some pokemon get inverse regional forms, where the game and dex considers it to be the older pokemon's actual form and the one in older games was actually a regional variant.
