>>54231446You wanna know what's really fucked up (and we don't know the whole story off, due to differing claims) but apparently that episode was banned in the US, not because of the scenes with Jame's Breasts (which they always knew they were going to have to cut) but because of that guy leering on Misty and comments made about her during the beauty pageant, which they realized after the fact might not fly in the US. This was pre-Pokemon Company so I'm not sure who in the pipeline was the connection to 4Kids, but the Pokemon side of the company 'highly suggested' they not Dub it 'to avoid controversy' when it came up in dubbing rotation, but then while there was a lull in episode premieres in the Summer of '00, WB strong-armed 4kids into releasing it as a 'lost episode' despite the request that they not dub it (because it wasn't an official 'no' like the Porygon and Dratini episodes, they assumed it would be fine.) Supposedly, this is part of what soured Pokemon's relationship with Warner Bro.'s and why they stopped distributing the films just a year later.
