>>38495993It still would have been a bad movie, but it would have been fun to watch. A couple years after that debacle, Amalgamated Dynamics kickstarted a movie called Harbinger Down where they used a lot of the gags and ideas they'd prepared for The Thing. It's pretty clearly a movie written and put together by effects people so it's pretty bad, but the effects make it worth a watch, especially if you're as salty as I am over the wasted potential on a prequel to my favorite movie of all time.
