There is no reason for someone to stay with you after they've gotten their wishes fulfilled, or you've already made them immortal in the hope they might remain friends with you. Anyone could easily claim to be your Guardian and then grow tired of the task after the first 100 years, leaving you in the middle of nowhere without your knowledge. Sort of like pic related. You'd simply wake up and have completely restarted, lost in a world you know nothing about and without any way to fulfill your own wish of having a friend that would never leave you.
Really the more I think about it, the more depressed I become. What do you guys think? Personally I'd really like the idea of someone staying with me throughout their immortal life, even if its just to talk every now and then, but I'm also understanding of how grueling and tiresome the concept could be with real implementation.
Finding a non-malicious person with bravery and dedication is a large struggle, especially with such limited time. And I'd feel like a terrible friend if I made someone protect me all the time. Being Jirachi is hard after all. (2/2)
