It's fine to have your own headcanon and even fine to disregard elements of the canon personally. The instant you start insisting your headcanon is the only true canon, or indeed the devs didn't mean what they had presented, despite them presenting EVERYTHING in a simplistic fashion, to ensure kids could fucking understand what they were saying, is where you fail; your headcanon's irrelevant to what the devs do.
