There are two types of females. The newfig females who use 4chan as their personal praise machine and drop hints about their femality every chance they can get, and the long term female users that have realised there is no point in revealing it and derailing a thread. The ones even in this thread that have decided to reveal their gender are attention seeking at the base level. They're likely insecure, and use /vp/ partially as a tool to reaffirm their confidence when male anons praise them. They're not necessarily bad people, just not entirely together. I'd say these are relatively few in numbers, especially when compared to boards like /r9k/ or /soc/.
