For me it´s impressing that this is the first and only time that we see a darker side of the Pokémon world, unlike the others, Orre is a region with many problems and not your tipically utopic region, things that are a basic resorce in other regions like Pokeballs are not that easy to obtain here. Even the main character is a proof of that, even if he is not a bad person at all (Both of his Pokémon evolve by friendship so he treat Pokémon well), he was a former Saggem Team admin and he robbed many mons in the past for necessity.
