I was hatching mon between Mauville and Verdanturf and doing a bit of grinding with my bro Marshtomp when a Shiny Zigzagoon appeared. I was confused and thought it had eaten a Berry before the battle since this was on the original GBA, the colour change wasn't that noticeable. Unfortunately the only Pokemon I had on hand were a freshly caught, extremely weak Roselia and my bro Marshtomp who was far too overlevelled. I wanted to catch it to see if it had a special item or something but only had 2 Poke Balls and a Great Ball to my name and RNG wasn't on my side.
...Then somehow, years later I found a Shiny Zigzagoon after beating the Elite 4 in X and finally one of my greatest shames was avenged.
