Like Lillie/Lusamine going to Kanto on a journey/for treatment by Bill respectively, Hau's dad who is a "strong trainer" that left for Kanto, Red/Blue being grown ass men and Kukui challenging the Indigo League etc.
The region would also be expanded like Unova in B2W2. You could also have Kantonian forms of newer gen Pokemon as the reverse of Alolan forms of Kanto Pokemon
