I have an "anime-like" movie playing in my head the entire time I am playing the games. I think this makes the boring battles fun and the important battles legendary.
I use an Ampharos every game that I can and always have it use Thunderpunch as its primary move. I do this because I fantasize the idea of Ampharos doing a Soul eater or MHA ending style punch on his enemies to end the battles.
I assign my pokemon personalities and quirks and add that to my mental movie. For example, in my Soulsilver playthrough I had a Scizor who I imagined was deeply in love with the protag and was always trying to show off or get their attention. I had an octillery who was always sleeping and would latch into my wobbafett's head and sleep there. My Typhlosion was the loyal follower pokemon who did what they were told and never really stood out. My ampharos was a Sasuke type that would always be off on their own and took until the victory road to really warm up the mai.character. I even imagined a little plotline where the protag and ampharos got separated in victory roadand he saved her, solidifying their relationship. Also my Granbull only used strength and would use the enemy pokemon as sports equipment for some comedy relief.
And last but not least whenever I catch a pokemon I have to use it regardless of its nature or IVs. I justify this by imagine that their fault make it unique and actually play into its personality.
How autistic am I, /vp/?
