Gen 4. It was the Gen I really got into competitive mons, plus all my friends who skipped Gen 3 came back to it. Platinum is a fucking masterpiece. The Phys/Spec split was the best thing to ever happen. Diamond was also the first game I ever 5-Star Trainer Carded. It also gave an evolution to my all time bro, Electabuzz.
Gen 5 gets some rec. because it introduced two mega babes: Elesa and Roxie. I'm not too big on BW2 Elesa though, even though W2 is my fav Gen 5 game; so much variety in Pokemon!
