Gen 3 dex takes the best parts of the genwun ethos and develops it further without as many animalmons.
Just think about how much sovl even the regular random pokemon you come across, which aren't necessarily legendaries or the face of the series have. Claydol. Relicanth. Makuhita. Shuppet and Dusclops. Tropius. Slakoth. Spoink. The list goes on. The legendaries are the coolest too. Gen 3 is simply the best, objectively.

Was Generation 3 a good time to be a Pokemon fan? Not just the gen 3 mainline games, but the spinoffs, the community at the time, and the overall vibe of the series. I look back on it and it really does seem like a golden time, which is ironic considering this was when Pokemon's mainline appeal fell off.

A newly translated interview says that some Gen 3 Pokemon with horns or tails were supposed have had them removed but for whatever reason Game Freak was either unable to or didn't have time to remove them. It doesn't say exactly which Pokemon though, so which ones seem like they shouldn't have horns or tails?
